17 (and a half!) Weeks

How far along? 17 1/2 weeks
Total weight gain: According to the Dr. today, I've gained 9lbs. since my first visit:(  But, in my defense, I do usually weigh myself right away in the morning at home and had already eaten and had alot to drink before my appointment:)
Maternity clothes? All maternity pants and a few shirts
Stretch marks? No new ones.....yet, but the existing ones are more noticable!
Sleep: Has been pretty good lately actually
Best moment this week: Yesterday I prayed the God would just let me feel some movement to put my mind at ease and God answered my prayers.  We also got to hear baby's heartbeat again at the dr. today which is always music to my ears!
Movement: Yes, for sure on January 29, 2013
Food cravings: Nothing crazy this week
Gender: We will find out on February 28th, can't wait!!!
Labor Signs: Nope
What I miss: Nothing really, life is good:)
What I am looking forward to: We have so much to look forward to; my mom got some wonderful news today and we have a new baby coming, God is good!
Weekly Wisdom: Baby is the size of my hand this week:)
Milestones: You know, every month, week, and day really feels like a milestone with this baby.  After you lose a baby you realize just how precious and fragile this whole process is.  You worry about every thing you feel or don't feel, every pain you feel, etc.  In the time between dr. visits there is worry and until I go there and hear that baby's heartbeat, nothing can take that worry away no matter how far along I get.  I hope now with being able to feel baby move some of my worry can go away because I will be able to feel his/her little life inside of me every single day and don't have to wait 4 weeks to hear his/her heart beating again.

Kids say the darndest things...

The girls are playing Barbies; Madi's Barbies are talking to eachother and one just said to the other, "many, many years ago in 2008" and "hey, you're 30, I think you can handle not talking to me like a 3 year old."  Where on earth does she get these things???

Happy Birthday Grace Lori Reed

Happy 3rd Birthday to our sweet Grace!  I can't believe it's been 3 years since God blessed us with your sweet little spirit in our lives.  Each day is a new adventure with you and we wouldn't want it any other way.  You have the biggest imagination, one of my favorite things is litstening to you when you're playing and seeing what you will come up with next:)  You are sweet and sassy, smart and silly!  But, in your own words, you are not naughty, "I am just happy."  Thank you for always being happy and for helping us to be the same; you bring so much light and happiness to every day and have helped to make our hearts smile even when it's hard.  I hope your birthday is perfect, just like you, and I hope your long awaited zoo birthday party was all that you were hoping it would be.  I love you with all my heart Gracie.
Love,
Mommy

Made my day

This little note I received this morning from Madi's teacher just made my day.  It makes my heart so happy that I get notes like this sent to me; I am SOOOOO proud of my sweet Madisyn and the kind little girl she is.  I also couldn't be more thankful that Madi has the amazing teacher she does this year!

Hello Lexie,
I was going to email you last night but I had a tea party with my daughter Charlotte and I ran out of time. Charlotte keeps talking about wanting to go to school but we keep reminding her she has to be 4 (she is only 2 1/2). It made me think of Madi because I can only hope Charlotte and Macie are as good of students as Madi is. She is such a wonderful little girl and I really enjoy having her in class. She is so respectful, helpful, smart, and sweet. You should be very proud.

My precious little baby...

"My precious little baby
I have loved you from the start
You are a tiny miracle
Laying closely to my heart

Each day I feel your presence
Each day you heart beats softly
As only I could know

So I'll keep this in a special place
And remember each year through
Of this very special time in my life
The moment I carried you"
-- Author: Unknown
Today I heard our sweet baby's heartbeat for the very first time...such a beautiful sound.  I'm so thankful that my mom and sister (and Gracie too:) could be there with me!
