Our Weekend

Madi playing a game at Brunch on the Farm
Madi's in heaven here, having ice cream for breakfast:)
Trying out another game!
I think this was her favorite part of the morning, they had chocolate milk in cartons and we didn't have a sippy cup or straw so she got to drink out of the carton all by herself...she thought it was sooo cool.
Trying out the new pool, she had a blast!
We had a great weekend this weekend, one that you just wish could last a couple more days (really aren't they all like that though?). We started out our Friday evening with Madi swimming in her new pool and Daddy grilling us up some yummy steaks then we watched a movie (7 Pounds-which was great). Saturday we slept in as much as we could then I got up and re-organized the pantry and laundry room, cleaned the house, went to church and came home and watched another movie (The ??? of Benjamin Button-another good one; long but good). This morning we got up and went to Brunch on the Farm over towards Bonduel. We had a really good time, these are such great events. Then we were invited to my brother and his girlfriend's apartment for lunch (which was GREAT, thanks for having us!!!). Now we're at home, relaxing and getting ready for another week. I just love weekends like this!

7 weeks down, 33 (or so) to go!

I will try to post the pictures of our 1st and 2nd ultrasounds soon. I need to scan them into the computer...it's crazy what a difference there was from the 1st to the 2nd ultrasound and how much baby developed in only a little over a week. How can anyone say that this entire process is not a miracle?

How far along? 7 weeks

Total weight gain: Maybe a lb.

Maternity clothes? Not yet but pretty soon the maternity pants will come out; I heard you show sooner with baby #2 and I can feel my pants getting a little snug in the waist.

Stretch marks? No new ones, just the ones left over from when Madi was born:)

Sleep: My sleep hasn't been the greatest for the last 2 3/4 years so not sleeping well is something I'm used to. Madi was up 4 times the other night; she wanted me to sleep with her in her bed all night. Hopefully she doesn't keep this up, I need at least a few months of sleep before baby #2 comes.

Best moment this week: Getting to hear baby's heartbeat on Friday (6/19) via ultrasound. It was awesome and neither Dave or I were expecting to get to hear that until at least our next visit so it was an awesome suprise.

Movement: Not yet

Food cravings: I really wanted Chinese Food the other day and I always crave subs. I have been feeling pretty nauseous the last couple days though and not just in the morning.

Gender: Only 13 weeks until we find out if Madi will have a little brother or sister!

Labor Signs: Nope

What I miss: Nothing really, it's not like I have really had to "give up" much, cutting out caffiene was no problem; in the scheme of things not drinking caffiene is a pretty minor thing to do for this little peanut!

What I am looking forward to: Our next Dr. appointment which Madi will get to come to so she can hear baby brother/sister's heartbeat too.

Weekly Wisdom: Make sure Madi knows how much she's loved. I never want her to feel like she's being overshadowed by baby.

Milestones: Hearing the heartbeat. I guess it just feels more "real" when you hear that little heart going 136 bpm!

First Post

I was looking back to my first post and I was reading how we said that before we had another baby there were three criteria that had to be met...

1. Madi has to be potty trained-check
2. We have to sell our house-check
3. Madi has to sleep all night, everynight, in her own bed-semi check

Well, I guess since our criteria have been met (for the most part) it's time to have another baby! That's right, Madi is going to be a big sister in February. I am due February 9, 2010. We are very excited. There will be lots of posts about this pregnancy as I plan to use this blog to help me do a better job of recording everything for this baby. Madisyn wants the baby to be named Zachary or Stacy. Although neither of those names are on our list, it's cute that she has some names in mind. She seems to be excited and will kiss my stomach sometimes or tickle it and say she's tickling the baby. I have a feeling that the excitement could wear off when she realizes that the baby will be staying at our house though!

Mackinac Island Weekend

This was the highlight of our trip according to Dave. He found these great suspenders on our way home. He's such a dork. Bear with me as there are alot of pictures this time but not even close to enough pictures to capture how much fun we had. Dave with his cool new suspenders.
Madi feeding the buck at the Deer Farm, this deer would not leave us alone.

Man do I feel for this poor mama, four babies; she must be tired:)

My goofy daughter sitting on a bear by the ice cream shop.
Madisyn obviously enjoyed her ice cream!
Madi and her best buddy Papa, they are quite the pair.
Dave, Madi and I on the ferry.
My baby sis marching in the parade; her band was AWESOME!!!
Madi and I watching the marching band playing at the Grand Hotel
My dad, Madi, Dave and I waiting to board the ferry to go to the island.

We had an awesome trip to Mackinac Island this past weekend. Thanks mom and dad for letting us tag along, we had an awesome time and way to go Kaci and the Pulaski Red Raider marching band for an awesome performance in the parade. It was definitely hard to go back to work today after such a great weekend.

My new obsession and yes, I am a nerd.

I think I'm officially getting old. My newest obsession is watching the weekly sales at the grocery store and using coupons I have to get some of my groceries for next to nothing. Every Wednesday, Copps grocery stores double coupons so here are a few of the good deals I got yesterday.
Deal #1
Manwich-On sale for $1 each. I had a coupon for $.40 off of two cans; double that and it's $.80 off of two cans. So, original price was $2.00, minus my $.80 coupon, I got two cans for $1.20 or $.60 each.
Deal #2
Hamburger Helper-on sale for $1 each. I had a coupon for $.80 off of three boxes; double it and get $1.60 off of three boxes. So, original price was $3.00, minus $1.60 coupon, I got three boxes for $1.40 or about $.47 each.
Deal #3
Philly Cream Cheese-on sale 2 for $3.00. I had a coupon for $1.00 off of two boxes; double it and get $2.00 off of two boxes. So, original price was $3.00, minus $2.00 coupon, I got two boxes of cream cheese for $1.00 or $.50 each.
Deal #4
Jack's Pizza's (the thick crust ones)-on sale 3 for $9.99. I had a coupon for $1.00 off of two pizzas; double it and get $2.00 off of two pizzas. So, original price for my two pizzas was $6.33, minus $2.00 coupon, I got two pizzas for $4.33. These pizzas are normally like $5-$6 each!

So, yes, I am a dork but I'm saving us money so I don't care:)
