Our Little Buckaroo is Turning 2

We could not have asked for a more beautiful day to celebrate our little man's 2nd birthday.  It seems as every weekend during the summer is filled with something, so we opted to celebrate his birthday on Father's Day and it was just the most perfect day.  Dave and I were talking last night
 about how happy Wyatt was during his party (and all the kids for that matter, they were all having so much fun).  Watching him (and the girls on their birthdays) so happy is the reason I love planning their parties.  I had so much fun with his party and was amazed what I could come up with from stuff I had around the house.  Thanks to everyone who celebrated with us and thanks to my mom for making another beautiful cake.  She never ceases to amaze me.  And now...be prepared for picture overload!

And we sang Happy Birthday to the little boy who was grinning from ear-to-ear the whole time.  Unfortunately, he got a little too close to the flame and burned his lip:(  Good thing he's tough. 

He will break out singing "Happy Birthday to Papa" multiple times a day so he thought it was great that we were singing to him!

 

Summer Days

Today was a pretty great summer day.  Not having a morning schedule we have to follow is so nice; now if we could only get Wyatt to sleep past 6am (he gets up between 5:30 & 6:00 on most days).  At least the girls are finally starting to understand the fine art of sleeping in.  We went to story time at our local coffee shop where the kids made ice cream, heard stories about ice cream, played a game, made an ice cream craft, and got root beer or orange floats for a treat.  Story time days are becoming our one day a week to eat out for lunch so they talked me into McDonalds afterwards.  Then we went for a visit to Grandpa & Grandma Hoverson's house so Wyatt could tell them his big news... he used the potty for the first time this morning!  I decided to stop at the greenhouse on the way home to see if I could find a couple hostas.  A woman overheard me asking the owner if he had any left and after he walked away told me just to come over to her house and dig some up because she had plenty.  I recognized her from when I worked at the bank so off we went to get a couple plants.  Madi said, "this is so random" when we got to their house.  They changed their minds when the woman's daughters took them in the backyard and let them play on the swing set and tire swing.

Soccer season is in full swing at the Reed house.  Madi plays Tuesday and Thursday nights and Grace plays Wednesdays.  Madi is in the "big leagues" and plays on a larger field with a goalie and they officially keep score now and will even have tournaments towards the end of July.  It has been somewhat of an adjustment for her; going from scoring multiple goals each game last year, to scoring one every couple games this year.  It was hard for her to get used to but she is doing very well and continues to be a very good player.  Grace has really come a long ways from last year.  Last year she scored one goal throughout the season and this year had 2 goals in her first game and 3 in another.  During her first game, she told my mom she was going to have Dave take a video of her so she could show her.  Part way through her game, she stopped mid-field, looked at Dave and yelled, "video.".  He quickly got his phone ready and she got the ball and took it all the way down the field to score a goal.  It was so cute, like she knew exactly what she was going to do and knew she was going to score a goal.  Her confidence has grown so much and she is very good at stopping the ball and getting it turned around.  We enjoy watching them both so much and Wyatt is their biggest fan.  He sits on the sidelines and yells, "Go Madi" or "Go Gracie" or "Go Green" (both girls have green shirts this year).  When Wyatt is old enough to play, Dave and I would like to coach his team together and Madi wants to help:)  When we get to that point, having all 3 playing, we may just set up our camper at the fields;)

2015 Oconto County Breakfast on the Farm

One of our favorite summer activities is going to Breakfast on the Farm every year during June dairy month.  We've been going since Madi was about Wyatt's age.  Wyatt was in hog heaven today, loving all the tractors.  Our sweet nieces, Hannah and Hattie, got to experience it for the first time too and boy did they look adorable in their little rain boots:)  Such a great event!

Thank You God for...

When we say our prayers with the kids we always say, "thank you, God, for..." and they are left to fill in the rest.  Tonight Grace said, "Thank you God for food, birthday parties, and Jesus."  Amen sister, amen. 

Baby Sister Graduates from UWEC

We had the best weekend celebrating Kaci's graduation from UWEC!  My dad's sisters, Laurel, Halle, and Sally, and my second cousin, Alex, flew in from Billings, MT to join us for the weekend.  Alex turned 13 on Saturday and got to enjoy her first airplane ride on Friday and go to the Mall of America today.  We were wishing she could come home with us; she was SO good with all the kids and they all loved her.  We enjoyed lots of visiting, some swimming, and of course, seeing Kaci graduate.  We are so very proud of her!

Dinner in the hotel lobby Friday night was a success!  Everyone enjoyed the subs!
