Tales from the Tub

Grace: "Mommy, I was trying to dump some water on my head and it went on the rug."
Me: "You got water all over the rug?"
Grace: "Not all over, just where it's wet."

You Should Do That Mommy

While we were on our trip, we were watching a little tv one night and a Weight Watchers commercial came on. Grace listened intently and then said, "you should do that Mommy."  After all the good food we had on our trip I probably should:(

AZ Trip-Day 6 & 7

Thursday, our last full day in AZ, we did a little shopping in the morning and picked up some things for a picnic at lunchtime. I was in heaven; there were racks and racks of sweaters for $3!  I was wishing I would've brought another suitcase!  We went to another awesome park for a picnic, the kids played, we walked along another trail, then headed back home to relax for the afternoon.  Dave's parent's ended up having a showing on their home so we hurried to get it in order then went for ice cream...before dinner (the perks of being on vacation)!  After ice cream we had a wonderful dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.  Perfect way to end our day.

Friday we had to head to the airport around 9:00.  We stopped for a quick bite to eat on our way and then went to the airport where we walked in to a line at the check-in counter that was all the way to the door.  We got a little nervous because we didn't figure it would be necessary to get there 2 hours early..... I guess we were wrong.  We made it just fine though and before we knew it were headed home.  We made it back to Pulaski around 6pm and stopped at my mom's house where my amazing sis-in-law had dinner waiting for us.  When we got back to our house, we also had soup in the fridge and cookies and rolls on the counter from my sis-in-law, Sarah,  We are so blessed with such great people in our lives!  We also got to visit for a while with my Aunt who had flown in for the week to stay with my mom.  She will never know how thankful I am to her and for her! It was a great week and it was hard to come back to the cold but nice to be back in our own beds.  Looking forward to our next visit already!
Wyatt is so lucky to have such good big sisters
This boy LOVED every minute of our trip.  He was so happy to be able to be outside.  I have a feeling he will live outside this summer!
His first time across the bridge was shaky but after that he loved it.
 Just a swingin'
 Look ma, no hands!
 Happy Gracie girl

I couldn't get over all the different kinds of cacti.  It was so cool!
Grandpa watching the girls perform one of their MANY renditions from Frozen!
I want to stand by the cactus Mommy.
We spotted a cute little lizard on our walk .  Can you spot him?
Wyatt ended up with his own seat on our flight home!  He enjoyed playing with his animal on his tray table.
The girls were so over our picture taking by this point.  Just one more??

AZ Trip-Day 5

Dave & I were up early, even on our night away so we got back to the kids before 10am after we enjoyed some delicious authentic Mexican breakfast burritos and got some Starbucks for the road.  The girls were in their swimsuits when we got back, ready to head to the pool for the day with Grandma and enjoy lunch on the pool deck.  Dave, Wyatt, and I headed to an outlet mall for the afternoon and found some good deals and enjoyed the beautiful weather.  When we got back we headed to the park for a while with everyone.  That evening we got to enjoy dinner with Dave's great Aunt and Uncle, Steve and Carolyn.  It was a quick visit but we were happy we got to see them even after the plans for Sunday didn't work out.
Here Wyatt, I will help you
 DOUBLE TROUBLE
Grace, I can do it by myself!

 Impressive follow through honey!

Seeing all the palm trees was so cool!
 Blowing some bubbles

AZ Trip-Day 4

Tuesday morning we got up and headed to Sedona for the day.  It was about a 2 hour drive but it didn't feel like it at all; the scenery was amazing!  We took the kids to Sonic for their first time and they couldn't believe we got our food brought to the car and we ate it in the car.  Sedona was absolutely gorgeous.  We visited the Chapel of the Holy Cross (Church in the rocks), spent the afternoon riding through the mountain trails in Polaris Rangers (after being very frustrated about not getting the initial jeeps we had reserved and Dave doing some slick negotiating), and Dave & I even got a night away while Grandma & Grandpa took the kids back to their house for the night.  We realized it was the first time we had ever left Wyatt for a night; since he's 20 months old, we figured it was time!  Wyatt asked Grandpa if he could go to bed so he did just fine without us!  We enjoyed dinner together and played for a while at the casino where I won $70 on a slot machine!
Kid's first trip to Sonic (Dave & I were reliving our college days, we used to eat at one in Laramie)
 On our way into Sedona
 The whole crew
Felt so strange to see flowers this time of year-loved the little sign
This church was so beautiful.  I'm so glad we went even though the kids couldn't understand why I'd want to go to church on Tuesday:)

 What a view

Ready to go on our adventure
Mommy even got a few turns driving
 Grandpa & Grandma having fun
I caught Dave working on vacation
Grace had to come sit in between Dave & I because she was falling asleep and kept leaning over in her car seat
Our rides for the afternoon.  So beautiful!
 Reed guys having fun

A little puddle jumping

 We wore him out!
Dave & I stopped along a scenic pull-out and it was beautiful!

AZ Trip-Day 3

Monday we headed to the Phoenix Zoo.  It was beautiful and we had a really nice time despite getting rained on.  On our way home we had a yummy Mexican dinner at On The Border.

Grace was our map reader for the day and took her job very seriously
Look Mama!
Wyatt thought all the dirt in AZ was pretty great

The giraffe thought Daddy's hat looked pretty tasty too
 Sisters
Just like we were back in WI:)

We managed to get pretty wet at the zoo when it started to rain
Grace pretending she was the Little Mermaid

Wy was very impressed with this statue
 Awesome cactus slide
 Goofy girls
These flowers were so pretty.  They looked like something straight from the Lorax movie.
And no zoo trip is complete without a ride on the carousel.
Grace chose the humming bird because she wanted to show Grandma Hoverson a picture of her on it:)
 And Wyatt rode the rhino
 Until next time!
We saw the most beautiful rainbow on our way home and Grandpa was able to capture a few pictures from the car.
