Beautiful

Today Madi was helping me make brownies. As I was pouring the mix into the pan, Madi says, "beautiful." That's my girl:)

Here fishy fishy

So this obviously isn't fishing, but this is what I did today...my first attempt at baking bread. It turned out pretty well but could've probably raised a bit more.
Dave's fish:)
Lunch, venison steaks from Dave's deer with sauteed onions on the grill...mmm
Doug's delicious bass, 21 inches
Doug with the delicious bass

Today Dave and my brother had their "man date" which consisted of ice fishing. My brother snagged a "delicious bass." They had a great time; I think they enjoyed the coffee and venison steaks about as much as anything though. Here are some pictures of their adventure.

How do I love my little girl, let me count the ways...

Madi is just such a joy in my life, here are just a few of the MANY reasons I love her sooooooooo much. I love...
*Her chubby little thighs
*Her cute little nose
*Her beautiful blue eyes
*How she gets excited when I come home everyday
*How she gets her c and f sounds mixed up (fairies=cairies, farted=carted, for me=cor me, uncle=unfle)
*How she pats my back when I pick her up
*How she puts her hand on my cheek when we lay down
*How she acts just like me sometimes and it drives her dad crazy
*How she loves to wear my pink high heels around the house and she walks so well in them
*How she can be such a little drama queen
*How she always tries to push the limits, "just one more time"

I wish for Mommy...

Today I had to work, leaving Daddy at home to watch Madi. They were reading a book and it came to a part that asked, "what do you wish for." Dave asked Madi what she wished for and she said, "I wish mommy come home." How sweet is that??? I'm so jealous that he gets to spend two days at home with her while I have to work:(

Happy New Year

Wow, it's hard to believe it's 2009 already! 2008 treated us well and we look forward to whatever 2009 has in store for us. We are blessed every minute of every day with this little girl that we love with all our hearts; she truly is the light of our lives. We look forward to watching her learn and grow this year (and hopefully get potty trained and sleep all night as well!!!) We also are looking forward to having a new little cousin for Madi in the family this June and we pray for a continued healthy pregnancy, delivery and baby for Paul & Erin (Dave's brother & his wife). We pray that Laura & Luis (Dave's sister and husband) are able to get pregnant this year as well; we know how much they want a baby. We pray for the health of all our family, especially Grandma Reed, and we hope God will continue to work miracles for her. We pray for safe travels for my dad all year long and for my sister who just got her driver's license. Here's to a great 2009!
